Neighbor,
This is my blog about State & Local Government, focusing on my hometown Lower Macungie, Lehigh Co. and Lehigh Co. District 2! In January 2014 I was sworn in to my first 4-year term as township Commissioner. Later I won a 2nd term and currently serve as a Lehigh County Commissioner representing District 2.
I continue to be humbled and appreciative of the continuous support from residents throughout the years. Our initial victory in 2013 was achieved through a grassroots campaign that emphasized enhancing the quality of life and ensuring fiscal sustainability through smarter growth strategies. At that time, the election served as a referendum on the land use decisions made by preceding boards.
I’m a lifelong resident of Lower Mac and a local small business owner. I also serve as Chairperson of the Lehigh County Farmland Preservation Board. The opinions here represent my own. I welcome questions and comments always. Feel free to email me at Ronbeitler@gmail.com
During my time as Lower Macungie Commissioner:
- We successfully reduced property tax bills for homeowners using the homestead program. As it stands Lower Macungie’s property tax is the lowest of any suburban community in the entire Lehigh Valley.
- We have preserved nearly 300 more acres of open space and farmland over the last 3 years.
- We’ve become the most transparent local government in the Lehigh Valley.
Sincerely,
Ron
Lehigh Co. Commissioner District 2
Former President Lower Macungie Board of Commissioners serving my second 4-year term

Walmart, Lower Macungie Township, what a cesspool. When is the township going to address the habitual problems emanating from it? PSP is certainly not.
